EVEN THE WORTHLESS
a poem by blackopscharlie 111212 © blackopscharlie.com
listening to switzerland by daughter
the windshield wiper blades
swished back and forth
spraying the water freezing
spreading, i couldn’t see
the sky was bright blue, bright
the tempeture cool, freezing the wash
sun bright, spreading across my sight
let it freeze, let it blind me, because…
i can’t see anyway, i can’t see anyway
where you at my Lord, where is your name
that brings healing souls, freedom, filling holes
they say you’re right here, you’re real, sincere
you walk along side, abide, you won’t let go
maybe it’s like Job, letting satan take hold
to prove some point while Job whales in anguish
or your disciples, beaten, tortured, imprisoned
one by one dyeing in belief for your help
why does your father require such anguish
but promise such relief and love and fortune
like your last ride shredded, trail of torture
suffocation hanging from a cross crucified
why would i pray for good or relief
when i know your method is pain and suffering
why would i raise my voice in asking
when your mind is already made up
you will do what is best in the suffering of us all
redeem us when you are done playing with satan
until then, we want you to know it hurts
when you play…even if we are worthless in sin
